Why is Adobe Captivate not part of Creative Cloud?

It seems it would be a great addition to workflows that require screen capture + publishing. As a creative, I often need to integrate screen capture videos in projects such as trailers, web site or application videos, or simply product presentation. Unless explained, I just don't see why it's not part of the Cloud package...  Now I have to consider buying Camtasia or using crappy freewares...

Referring the community to this link makes sense because that is the only thing you can suggest for us to do.  Knowing the community would have wanted the product included in their subscription in the first place and instead,  making us have to vote does not. To make things easier in the future just know we want all developed apps included in our subscription.  Even if that means some premium tier plan that costs a bit more monthly...  voting is just silly.  Voting still hasn't brought a simple spell checker to Adobe Story. Good thing you guys legitimately happen to be one of the best companies ever or this stuff would really haunt you.

Captivate is convenient  to use for e-Learning projects but it's not the only tool available to us.  As Full Creative Cloud Plan members, we have access to all the products we need to create rich multi-media and e-Learning content providing we have the coding skills and know-how for it.

If Adobe wants to keep Captivate (formerly called e-Learning Suite) as a separate product offering, that's their prerogative.  There may well be contractual / legal reasons for this that we as product users know nothing about.   In short, it's not our decision to make.

Finally, I think this thread from 2012 has run its course.  I am locking it from further posts.  If someone has  compelling reasons for unlocking it, please private message me.

Happy 2018!

I am with Thomas_Kennedy and the rest of you on this topic!! I pay $54 (that includes tax) a month for Adobe Creative Cloud even though I own Creative Suite /CS6 and I have been wondering the same thing!!

WHY... OH WHY... has Adobe NOT included Captivate in the Creative Cloud Suite?????  I see that Premiere is now a feature, but NOT Captivate?? AND... there is a $29.00 charge to sign up to get Captivate Cloud... why is this separate??

I LOVE all of the features CC offers, but not having the eLearning tools is driving me nuts!! I am having to use other programs and brands when I would LOVE to use Adobe for everything I do. I have been asking this question from the VERY beginning when Creative Cloud was first launched and I hopped on board.

ADOBE.... are you listening to your loyal customers????  We are having to use other (less expensive) options.... wouldn't you rather us choose YOU over some other brand???  We are waiting....

Note to ADOBE: We have invested in you, now please invest in us and add a few extra features to Adobe Creative Cloud Suite!! Don't make us pay an extra 29.00 for ONE program...pretty please...

Logical mismatches found in the phrases Adobe "listening to your loyal customers" and "please invest in us"...

After Adobe's response to Acrobat DC debacle and the 2015 updates across the board, it seems customer satisfaction is low on their priority list compared with harvesting profits from their indentured subscription members...

unfortunately, it does look like customer satisfaction is currently quite low on adobe's list of priorities :-(

Yes. Have to agree with all the above. I just purchased a year's subscription to Adobe Cloud and was quite let down that Captivate was not part of the package. As the budget is blown I will have to look at another angle as can't afford the $600 to get it. Also, with video and sound editing and script tool as part of the cloud, why isn't this part of the package. Insane!

I do not necessarily need to create learning materials but would love the capture functionality.  I have the CC subscription and wish Captivate or a screen capture was included.

I would like to see Captivate and Presenter added... Or more importantly, a CC eLearning Suite implemented. It's very annoying that Adobe has chosen to ignore an entire division of professionals by not providing us with a viable solution within the Creative Cloud environment.

I also need captivate, and I would pay 5 € more for the CC subscription to have it all the time

I'd love to add my vote, but the link doesn't work.

Adobe would undoubtedly raise the cost of CC if it included Captivate.  Since most people don't create elearning materials, I doubt they'd be happy about the addition.

Most People maybe do not use all the other Applications inside CC either, but for those you do the CC is highly valuable so I would think the same could be argued for also the Captive Application - I definitely would value it. Also, I think maybe we should let it be left to Adobe themselves to suggest any prize rise to their various packages
