I'm about to move from a M1 Mac Studio to a M2 Mac Studio and was thinking about using the migration assitant. However, I've heard a lot of things about Ceative Cloud Apps not transfering properly and having to reinstall. Is this true? What would route would you suggest, clean install or migration assistant?

I've used it in the past to move things over. Worst case you would just have to re-install. But I would say it's worth a shot.

Clean install definitely.
The migration assistant does not work for Adobe products. We see countless cries for help in these forums which have their genesis in the migration assistant.

My understanding (based on reading many messages) is that an Adobe install places a hidden registration file on a computer's drive... and the migration assistant does not 'see' that hidden file, so the programs do not work properly after being migrated

i too strongly recommend not using migration assistant with adobe apps/services.

Even if the Migration Assistant works initially, you could face issues that will only become apparent later on and may require a clean installation to fix.

Hi All, I'm about to do the same. I intend on using Migration Assistant to make sure all my data other than Adobe comes across. Obviously this won't work for my Adobe Apps, so is the suggestion to uninstall Adobe from from my old Mac first, or is there some other way I can select it to not transfer during the process? Sorry if this is a silly question, I just can't remeber what I did last time!

You may sign out of your Cloud account and remove the programs

You need to ask how to use migration assistant in a Mac forum

Thanks John,
That's perfect, exctly what I needed to know - not too worried about the Mac end of things, just the Adobe stuff.

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

Thanks, what a nuisance. But I have done Migration Assistant before without taking these steps, and that’s worse.
