Mac: Upgrade PS CS5 on Mac to Version 12.0.4 or 12.1

Droplets created with Photoshop CS5 Verion 12.0 create PPC code which no longer runs on Mountain Lion.

In order to get droplets with intel code Adobe says I should update my Photoshop Installation.

Well, if I call the Update Manager via Menu Help -> Updates ... It says there are no updates available.

How can I get my PS installation to 12.0.4 or even 12.1?

Correct answer momosani81

Momsani81 if uninstalling and reinstalling is not resolving your difficulties then I would recommend reviewing your installation logs to locate the exact error.  You can find details on how to locate and interpret your installation log files at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.

Please feel free to post any specific errors you locate within the installation log to this discussion.

== Problem solved ==

Hi Jeff,

thanks for your advise. You're right: having a look at the log files with zless in terminal mode revealed some language components and other stuff missing.

The solution was to completely reinstall the whole CS5 suite. After that I could apply the patch / update with ease.

Fine :-)

Yep. Meanwhile I found updates for 12.0.4 and even 12.0.5. Unfortunatelly the updater quits with error code U44M2P6. Nothing happend - PS remains the old version.

In some forums I found the hint to first update the Application Manager. So I did. But rolling out the updates I get the same errors as before: Error Code U44M2P6.

This Photoshop Updating things drives me nuts...

I can only offer hearsay (readsay is more like it)... If I do a search on that error code in this forum, the results point to using the...

I do not know if it holds for individual applications... I don't even know if it helps for full suites due to lack of experience with it.

Go to the direct updates page and see if you can get them there.  I see 12.0.4 offered:
