MacOS CC install in Documents folder... how to change

For some very odd reason, CC is installing my full CC apps into the Documents folder. I went to the gear icon and saw change location, but that's my home directory. CC appears to look inside the home directory for a Documents folder and install in that.

I would like to have CC install applications in the Applications folder and the various library files in the Library, as every other application on the Mac does.

How can I fix this? I could just change the install folder in the gear icon, but I'm guessing that would look for "Documents" inside whatever folder is specified. Is that a correct assumption?

no. cc typically doesn't look for a documents folder.

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud.

if you're unable to install the cc desktop app at this stage, use an administrator account (solution 3 here, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/creative-cloud-missing-damaged.html)

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials
