Missing Adobe Desktop Common Folder

New Here ,
Jun 08, 2025 Jun 08, 2025

Hi,

I've never had an issue with downloading the Creative Cloud but recently due to some issues, I've had to reinstall the Creative Cloud and even deleted all Adobe folders everywhere on my PC before doing this to make sure it helps fix it.

I'm now coming across and issue when I've tried to reinstall it recently where not all the folders will be installed like previous. For example, this used to exist before I deleted it but now when I install it again, this doesn't exist C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe Desktop Common.

Can someone help with this issue? I've tried to uninstall the app, using the cleaner tool etc.

Hi @ricemuncher304,

We'll look into this. Does it affect your work? Could you share more details for us to look for.

there's no telling what you deleted manually that could have caused problems.  you'll probably need to restore your computer after backing up data, but you could try:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials>

if that fails, you probably have a corrupt user account. google your os and how to create a new one.
