Question

Multiple licenses on one Adobe ID account

My company has purchased multiple retail copies of CS6 Master Collection. As the IT Director, I would like to install and register each of these copies on separate PCs  and manage those copies, with a single Adobe ID account, similar to the way Creative Cloud for Teams works. Is this possible, and how is it done?

Interesting question... I know that a "regular" Cloud ID may not activate more than two computers on one subscription, and I have read that that same single Cloud ID may not have more than one subscription

I know that the IT staff at the University where I used to work installed ALL programs (I retired long before Cloud subscriptions) so I am going to GUESS that you simply create a business ID and then install & activate as many CS6 serial numbers as you want

But, since I don't work for Adobe, that is only my best guess

Try chat... and hope that you get someone who has worked for Adobe long enough to know what was done with the 4 year old CS6

I just had a chat with Adobe. Basically, retail CS6 registration does not allow using a "manager" ID to install and manage multiple copies. You can either install/register each copy using a single ID, or install/register each copy using a separate ID. There is no management capability with a single ID other than being able to see what licenses are being used with that ID.

In my case, assuming I used a single ID, I would install/register each copy on a PC, then I could log into my Adobe account and see the licenses I've activated. Unfortunately, if someone leaves the company, I would have to deactivate the license and uninstall/de-register. With Creative Cloud for Teams, everything would be under a single license managed by a single "manager" account. Each user would create their own account and download/install/activate the given license from the "pool".

It's a bit of a workaround, but it's still manageable...just not the way I wanted to do it.

OK... as I thought... you may use one Adobe ID to install as many CS6 as you want

Since a Team subscription was created since CS6 was issued, I'm not surprised that you do not have any "management" options when you install CS6

I am the only user with my CS6, so I really don't know how well CS6 will work when "you" install it (which requires an Administrator account) and you then let someone with a "non-you" user account actually run the programs... but I do know that at least some of the CS6 programs require an Administrator level account to work correctly
