You get two activations. Just install on your new Mac. Any problems, Contact Customer Care by chat and they can reset the activations.

And if you haven't done so yet, register your software.

I have the same issue with Lightroom. I have it registered but need to clean the hard drive in my Mac. How do I redownlaod without having to pay for it. I have the serial number

If you have the serial number and it's registered under your name, you own it no worries.

If you go into your account and look for your product. There's a right pointing triangle before it. Click on that and you will see your serial number and possibly a download link for that version of Lr.

If not, what version of Lightroom do you own? I can look for a download link.
