Need new laptop. what specs do I look for to use CS6

I'm hoping some tech-savvy people can help me, a writer/artist who is not that versed on tech specs.

I'm replacing my laptop and need to know what I need to make sure a new one has in order to use CS6. Not sure if tablets work at all. Don't want a tablet unless it's one with a keyboard.

On a non-Adobe note, is there any way to get my files off the hard drive of a laptop with a cooked mother board?

you can manually remove your hd and use an hd to usb adapter to connect your hd to your new computer via its usb port.  adapters cost about $20:

Which Adobe CS6 products will you be using and what will you be doing with them?

    Mac or Windows?

At least get a 64 bit machine (that's all Macs and most Windows laptops but not all). That's essential for Premiere Pro and After Effects.

Also as much RAM as possible and at least 512MB of vRAM for 3D features in Photoshop.
