Which version of Elements do you have a serial number for?
Are you installing that same version?
i.e. you're not trying to enter a PSE11 serial number into PSE12?

No. It is elements 6.0. Purchased that and premiere 4.0 at the same time and I DO have the serial number, but there is no place to download a trial for that old a product BUT my edited genealogy files, etc. are in there and I need to get them on the new computer! Thanks

Hi Jane Glenn
As CS 6 was never tested on any of the latest versions, there could be an issue with compatibility of the OS and the software that you are using.
Kindly refer : http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/system-requirements-photoshop-elements.html#Older ...

Thanks for your reply. I now have 8.1, so apparently 6.0 will not run on that. Hate to purchase again, but I guess I have no other choice!

First, there seems to be some confusion: you are talking about PSE 6, and Atul talks about CS6.
If you cannot get PSE 6 to run on Windows 8.1, try it in Vista or XP Compatibility Mode.
As for the serial number problem, someone from Adobe will need to assist you with that.

Hi,
Please accept my sincere apologies for the statement I stated in my previous post.
I mentioned CS 6 by mistake, wherein, I should have mention PSE 6.0. However the link that I have mentioned is for PSE itself.
Kindly ignore CS 6 from the post.
Thanks,
Atul Saini
