New virus with Photoshop update?

While updating Photoshop CC 2017 I got a security alert from MS Windows that there was a high level security threat:  PWS:Win32/Lineage.gen!C.dam

This can steal your ID and passwords.  I got rid of it (I hope) by canceling the update. Once I did that MS indicated that there was no threat detected

How do I safely update Photoshop?
