Question

offline activation fails

I have in install of Flash Builder 4.7 installed on a system that does not have direct access to the open internet.

The registration/activation instructions say to generate a request code and take it with my serial number to www.adobe.com/go/getactivated  for a response code to activate the software.

Every attempt for more than a month has been met with the following response:

"Unable to process your request. Please try again later."

Adobe Customer Support has been engaged on this for over a month with promises of it being escalated, but ultimately no resolution.   Meanwhile my trial version has expired, I am unable to do any further development and I have an angry customer.

Does anyone (Adobe or otherwise) have an alternate solution?   Does anyone know who to contact for Adobe to fix their Offline Activation web site?

Thanks!

Leo Bynum I am sorry you have faced difficulties with the activation process.  Have you tried using a USB drive to transfer the request and response code from the offline computer to the online computer?

Do you have a case number from your interaction with our support team that I can reference?

Jeff,

Thanks for your response.  I do have a case number

The original case number was: 0212942648

It was changed for some reason and there is now a new case number for the same unchanged problem:  0185530960

I tried www.adobe.com/go/getactivated again today with a newly generated request code and I am still ever confronted with "Unable to process your request. Please try again later."

This is going on a second month now with limited response from Adobe Support except the continuous assurance that it has been escalated.  Meanwhile I have an urgent project that is languishing and disillusioned customers, and the problem remains unresolved.

I would be most grateful for any assistance you might provide.   If you need a request code or direct contact info to reach me, I would be happy to provide it.

          Thanks,

                   - Leo

Leo please try removing the following folders:

  • C:\ProgramData\Adobe\SLStore
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Adobe PCD
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\caps
  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\SLCache

This should help ensure that no licensing files are interfering with offline activation process.  Please go through the process again you can find details at Offline Activation.  I would recommend using a USB drive and a text file to enter the request and response code.  I personally faced difficulties trying to enter the code in manually.

Ok, I will try that, but I'm a bit confused since I'm not having any trouble with Flash Builder, I'm having trouble with the Adobe Activation web site.

Are you saying that I should delete the above files and then generate a new request code?   Unfortunately no printers or USB drives are accessible from this computer.  It must be pencil and paper.

Are you saying that the Web page message:  "Unable to process your request. Please try again later."   Really means bad serial number or bad request code?

Thanks again for your quick response.
