PageMaker

I didn't see any FAQ regarding PageMaker.  I am unable to load my CD into Windows 7.  I paid over $600.00 for the program.  Does this mean I have to re-purchase it??  That just isn't right.

Ok Cheryle if you open the PM65 folder you should see a setup.exe located within the folder?

Ok. But there are more than one:

_setup.dll

_setupn.lib

_setup.lib

setup.exe

setup.ini

setup.ins

setup.pkg

Which one?

Setup.exe should do it.  With luck you should soon be installing Pagemaker!

Just so I don’t mess anything up, what should I do?

Double click on Setup.exe and follow through the prompts.  It should also request your serial number during the installation process which can be found on the back of your CD case for Pagemaker.

I knew I’d done this but couldn’t remember the message:

THE VERSION OF THIS FILE IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH THE VERSION OF WINDOWS YOU’RE RUNNING. CHECK YOUR

COMPUTER’S SYSTEM INFO TO SEE WHETHER YOU NEED AN x86 (32 BIT) OR x64 (64 BIT) THEN CONTACT THE SOFTWARE PUBLISHER.

This is where I started to contact Adobe ~

I see I did find a few threads regarding this topic.  I would recommend reviewing those threads as they have some strategies which users have employed to allow some users to install successfully.  It doesn't appear to work 100% of the time however.

It is helpful though that we were able to invoke the installer.  This should make it easier to attempt to apply the solutions offered within the listed threads.

Jeff~

I guess I’m resigned to put the PAGEMAKER on an old computer, not my new one, as a last resort. Hopefully, I’ll be able to do that. In the meanwhile,

I want you to know I truly appreciate all your help and your stick-to-it-ive ness (I’m sure that’s not the correct spelling, but you know what I mean)

You are my Hero!!

Thanks,

Cheryle
