I subscribed to CC this year, been a LR5&6 license user for 3 years now. Any way, I can't open PS from the start menu? LR opens just fine. I uninstalled PS and reinstalled 2 times from the CC tool bar and still get the error when I try to start PS from the start menu. I have windows 10. What's up? Any help is appreciated, Mike

Thanks for the reply kglad but I don't have a clue where the install directory is?

I've dug around in C drive and found lots of PS folders but none labeled install. Never had this problem till I signed up for CC... All I ever had to do was put the disc in,hit run and install. Thanks anyway.

Did that, still says app failed to start correctly. I tried opening it from the C drive location and it still fails.  I get this message "This app unable to start correctly (oxc00007b)"

Beats the heck out of me?

kglad,The only way to open PS CC is if I open a picture it LR the tell LR I want to edit the photo in PS as an external editor. Then every thing works fine. Tried opening PS from LR from the view screen and the App failed to open properly. It only works if I tell it to edit a photo in PS. Sorry for the late reply, I had to work overtime  with no time to fool around with LR.

Easier said than done. Ctrl, alt, shift does nothing. Adobe Photoshop X Prefs.psp doesn't exist. Deleated a file called PS prefreances and it still won't startn on it's own. Got a good mind to cancel CC and just go back to my Lic. version of LR... Hope adobe is reading this to.

Kglad, uninstalled PS again. Found a link to download PS directly from adobe and not thru CC. All works like its supposed to. I can open from start menu no problem. Funny thing though. I open up CC and it only shows LR and Raw. PS is an option to download. It's like CC doesn't see PS on my hard drive, weird? Doesn't matter it opens like I want it to. Thanks for trying to help.

Kglad,To much work and no play lately. Finally got back on line tonight. I thought of trying that but was afraid it would mess things up. I have a slow connection and to download PS takes 2 hours. Might try it this weekend. I guess the worst  thing I would have to do would be uninstall and reload from adobe direct link again.

Kglad, downloaded PS from the CC menu and it still wont open. The other PS I downloaded from the direct download link still works. Must be something wrong with the download program from CC app.

you might want to leave well-enough alone and live with it.  but if you want to invest a lot of time for a little benefit:

uninstall everything cc including preferences, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app, https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud. (if you have a win os, right click the exe > click 'run as administrator'.

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials

Update !  I finally gave up and called Adobe tech help, wish I had called sooner. The issue was with Microsoft C ++ redistributable X86 program and X64 installed program.

I gave my computer control to the Adobe tech via remote control. "Mayank" started his trouble shooting and found the issues in the install/uninstall programs file "Microsoft C ++ redistributable X86 program and X64 installed programs" on my hard drive. He clicked repair and it worked. Now every thing works like it's supposed to, except the CC app. I could not open P/S from there. Mayank found I had run as administrator clicked in a open program dialogue box. Unchecked that box and the app, "open P/S" icon worked.  He did comment that Adobe CC does not like to be ran in administrative mode.

Hope this helps, Mike
