Photoshop Elements 14 Extractor Not Working

I purchased Photoshop Elements 14 and downloaded without a problem. When I try to extract the files the extractor stops working at about 90% and freezes completely. I am running Windows 8.1, 64 bit system, with a core i5 processor. I would really like to be able to install the program and use it but I can't even extract the files.

I Have 850 gigabytes open. It downloaded fine. I'm certainly no where close to being out of space on my computer. If this were a simple fix I would have gotten it. I tried running the extractor as an administrator, Same issue of it stopping in the 90% range. I downloaded it again and had the same issue. There are no other programs running  the background other than system necessary files. Each time I attempt the extractor it goes slightly farther but still fails before complete.

As far as I can see there is no 'correct answer' here and this thread shouldn't be marked as answered. If there's no further helpful response then I'll start a new one.

I have the same problem: I purchased 4 licences for Photoshop & Premiere Elements 14; the downloads were slow but completed ok. However, the extraction process freezes when almost complete (according to the progress bar) with no error message other than 'not responding'.

I've tried extracting to local and network drives, using windows 7 pro, 8.1 pro and 10 pro computers, with antivirus (Symantec Endpoint Protection) enabled and disabled - all with the same result. I'm running it with administrator privileges. I've tried turning internet access off while extracting. I've tried downloading the files again - it made no difference.

My boss is giving me grief as we've paid for something I told him would be great, but we can't use. If I had hair, I'd be tearing it out. Has anyone actually experienced this problem and found a fix?

Agree thorveblen- got exactly the same issue and like you say this thread has not been answered conclusively and effectively by Adobe so why has it been marked as answered? I have also tried the disabling of anti-virus, running as administrator etc and still getting the same problem, green bar gets towards end then crashes every single time. Unfortunately this is really poor from Adobe in terms of answering this question and hopefully someone will give us a clear answer soon @bHre Cole

How much disk space do you have left? Are there other apps running? this is usually a sign that you are running out of disk space or another process is running and the installer waits for it to be terminated, so the disks can be accessed.

    Hi bHre Cole,

Are you seeing any error message or is the extractor just freezing? From where did you download Elements 14?
