Problem downloading CS6 Master Collection trial

So I tried to doanload a trial version of CS6 yesterday, but the download assistant seemed to stall 3/4th of the way there. I let it be, then I tried again today and it was still stalled at 3/4ths of a green bar, so after waiting to see if it would complete I tried to trash the (incomplete) CS6 file I found on my drive, as well as the download assistant, so as to start the whole thing over, hopefully this time with success. (I also emptied the trash.) But the new download assistant immediately recognized the prior situation: i.e., a partially completed download -- this despite the fact that I had killed the partly loaded (and stalled) file. Further, half an hour later it then thought it had completed the download, but didn't open the program. Instead I got a small 'Warnin'g box informaing me that "the following disc images couldn't be opened": MasterCollection_CS6. The reason given is "Illegal seek." How can I re-do this process, this time successfully? Any help much appreciated.

The only think I can find on that page hat might apply to my problem is the thought to find the doanload assistant cookie, but I can't seem to find the cookie. Possibly if I kill the cookie I can re-start the whole download, this time with success. Where would I find the cookie, on a Mac? Other ideas welcome, thanks.
