Whenever I attempt to download one of the files from the Creative Cloud it says I have insufficient disk space. This is not surprising, as I only have a 32 GB computer with <1 GB open. However I have an external Toshiba hard drive that holds 1 TB on it, and changed all of my preferences for the downloading to happen on that. I have 921 GB open on my Toshiba drive, however I feel as though it is not downloading it to the Toshiba drive as every time I try to download Premiere the CC gives me error 120 (insufficient space). Any help?

Hi ZeidenFilms,
The link very old so it might be unavailable. Could you please share more details of the issue you are facing? Is it about installing apps on a different drive?
Thanks

[My Reply]
Thanks, Kanikas! for a quick reply! I have SOLVED this Error 120 code using support provided by Adobe chat. Here is the outcome. I hope someone else finds this useful for themselves and because I am not a complete time waster... BOTTOM LINE... if you have come here to find a solution because you searched Error 120 Solved... Get a new drive and upgrade your storage for your C drive, if you have received Error 120. Just do it...
[My Findings]
I have found that adobe requires us to have program files and backend files downloaded to the C drive no matter what. This is troublesome because I have no indication that the creative cloud apps needs to have C drive capacity when changing the drive location for downloads in the preferences. ... I will sadly say, knowing how computers opperate, this makes sense. I don't like it, but it does make sense. Read more below for ultimate Solution for Error 120, inssuficent storage.
Read the advice from Adobe, below....
[Creative Cloud Installed Location]
"Creative Cloud is on C drive and we will install application from Creative Cloud only. So the application , files , project will be stored on other drive, but the background running files which make the application run are on C drive only. If the drive is free with space it will perform well, as you know there are cache created when we run an application and they are also on C drive only."
[Download locations]
"Yes we recommend them [The downloaded applications, Photoshop, etc.] to be on C drive. But when you have Creative Cloud installed on C drive, you get choice of installing other Sub application on other drive to save space. We have that feature now to install it on other drive."
[Change download location-And beware]
"A lot of badly designed programs simply assume they are installed on C:\ drive, and may misbehave if installed elsewhere
Account Profile >> Preferecne >> App >> Location >> you can choose location. Create a folder with name Adobe and then you can install it .
It's a lot easier to make a backup (image) of your system, and to restore that backup successfully, if both OS and programs are on the same drive."
[Space Recommended]
In order to make the system performane better with all apps including Adobe also you would require minmum 30-40 Gb free in C drive. The drive capacity can go to 200 to 500Gb also .
You should have at least 20% free disk space on your C: drive. However, if you have a lot of large files or programs, you may need more free disk space. For example, if you have a lot of video files, you may need 40% free disk space. If you have a lot of music files, you may need 60% free disk space. because when we play or use application"
[Overall Recommendation for effective efficiency]
"But we recommend to keep in internal drives, as keeping them on External drive will take time to load on Premiere Pro. But as you said because of space issue, customer keep them on external drive which save space on system drives. They also keep it on Cloud, but in that case you need to be more carefull, as we need to synch the files properly on cloud before closing application."

[Also Notable Mentions... Not Quoted]
1. Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool
2. You can contact Adobe for a download link for all applications, where you will not need to download through the creative cloud app, however, doing so will mean that the user will need to most likely update the application to the latest version using the creative cloud desktop, or Creative cloud, website applcation.
When doing this, it sorta means that, if a user does not have enough storage to download the application's neccessary program files for app data, resources, etc. then there is still no way to update the app since the creative cloud will always default to downloading these updates to two drives, if user is trying to download an app to another drive.
[Opinions]
This information would be so incredibly useful to be stated on the Creative cloud preferences, however, it is just not listed there and can cause sooooo much time trying to understand why! but really, it all makes tons of sense, if a user understands that a C drive contains all of these programs resource files, etc.
Sadly, a user having this error, most likley will need to upgrade their C drive to have more usable space and to best run apps, it is all dependant on the type of application and project. Of course, I will say, for a long long long while now, I have had mb and kb available on my C drive, and my use case is usually A OKAY! so your experiences may very and if you just have no space, yeah... it's ALWAYS recommended to get more space. That's the bottom line. Go find another drive and swap them out so you can effectively download apps and updates.
Womp womp... Enjoy creating!

You need a lot of space on C just to get downloads working and keep the system running OK. How much do you have?
