"You don't have access to manage apps"

New Here ,
Apr 27, 2024 Apr 27, 2024

Hi

The CC app is broken on my laptop. It just gives the message "You don't have access to manage apps"

I had the apps installed when I first got the message. Tried running CC cleaner to do a fresh install and now I can't install anything!

It seems to think I need the IT depertment in install the apps. It's a personal license and I am the "IT Department" as far as this is concerned.

If you have an individual subscription plan

If you're not in an organization or school environment,

  1. Close the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

  2. Go to the following location on your computer and delete the ServiceConfig.xml file:

    • macOS: /Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE/Configs/
    • Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE\Configs\

    Note:

You'll need administrative privileges on the computer, to delete the ServiceConfig.xml file.

  3. Restart the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

If the issue persists, try the troubleshooting steps in Activation and deactivation troubleshooting.

or, if the cc app was working previously on the problematic computer, just reset the cc desktop app by making sure it's in the foreground, then press:

Win: Ctrl + Alt + R
Mac: Cmd + Opt + R

Mal, I can confirm that your membership is still active. In addition to the suggestions offered by Kglad, you can also use the CC Cleaner Tool to remove Adobe ID login information. The CC Cleaner Tool is available for download at https://adobe.ly/3OOqdjV.

Have you changed anything recently on the computer, Mal? Was new security software installed or updated? Anything that could affect the licensing files stored on the computer? ^JW
