Ok, so I'm just finding this thread in Oct. 2024. I just ran the Powershell command, but it failed. This is the text it provided. I'm not sure where to go from here. Should I try to contact Adobe live tech support?

No, I'm a regular user in this case. The PC I'm trying to update is my own, not supplied by my employer, so I have full admin rights to the device.

I think the problem is that I upgraded the drives, and now it is looking for a particular drive that is no longer in use. I was mainly trying to avoid having to uninstall all CC and all the other Adobe apps to solve this issue.

if changed the physical drive on your computer that was used to install the cc apps, did you change the install location in the cc desktop app preferences?

In attempting to troubleshoot this issue, I did change the preferences setting from Default to the Program Files/Adobe folder.

Yes. That's how I got to the Powershell giving me the error that the remote procedure call failed. Creative Cloud appears to get 75% through the update process, then gives the 507 error.

ok.  carefully follow each applicable step:

uninstall every cc app including preferences per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-remove-app.html

then uninstall the cc desktop app, again using the correct uninstaller per https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html#sa_src=web-mes...

clean your computer of cc files per http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html

check for, and if available, update your os

if windows is your os, repair all ms visual c++ versions that can be repaired (use google if you don't know how to do this)

if windows is your os update your ms visual c++, if it can be updated (use google if you don't know how to do this)

restart your computer (don't skip this)

reinstall the cc desktop app using the "alternative download links" at the bottom of the page at https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/creative-cloud-desktop-app-download.html

use the desktop app to install your cc programs/trials>

if that fails, you probably have a corrupt user account. google your os and how to create a new one.

Thank you for the thorough process.

I'm not too concerned with the rest of the app preferences and settings, but I do have a Lightroom Classic catalog that I don't want to lose. Should I make sure to have a backup of this copied on a drive not connected to the PC when I run the cleaner tool, or will it ignore this type of file?
