Re-installing Photoshop CS5 upgrade but installation stalls

After a system restore, when attempting to re-install my Photoshop CS5 on my Windows 7 PC, it keeps stalling.  It reaches a point where the "currently installing" does not move but the "Total Time remaining", keeps increasing, have been trying to get this installed for two days now.  At one point the "Total Time remaining" had reached over 800 minutes with 5% complete.  On this last attempt to install it went up to 296 minutes with 15% complete and then kept fluctuating down to 280 minutes 14% then up to 305 minutes 15% complete.  Right now I am just letting it run.  Before it was stalling at the Adobe Help, now it is stalling on the Adobe Air.

I have restarted this installation several times, uninstalled and reinstalled my previous versions of Photoshop and tried again.  Made sure all other programs/applications are closed and that my internet connection was solid.  I just don't know what to do or try next.  Right now at 337 minutes still 15% Complete and still on Adobe Air.

I gave it one more try and Note here for others that may run into the same problem, how I was finally was able to Install the Adobe Photoshop CS 5.

When you come to the screen for choosing what to install for the Photoshop CS 5, if as in my case you have the 64 bit, check ONLY the 64 bit (if the 32 bit is checked than remove the check mark) and Remove the check mark from Adobe Air.  This does the trick and will install properly.

I noted when the installation kept stalling it is was either at the A

Thank you, I downloaded the files and tried installing (this being my eighth attempt).  Same problem the installation stalls when trying to install the Adobe Help.

I thought if I could get the help installed perhaps I could then finish the rest of the installation so tried the following:

First I installed the Adobe Air application separately and received the message that newer version already existed.

Then, I tried installing the Adobe Help application separately and got the following message:

"The application cannot be installed due to a certificate problem.  The certificate does not match the installed application certificate, does not support application upgrades, or is invalid.  Please contact author."

After this I deleted my previous versions of Adobe Photoshop and after several more attempts, I finally gave up.  My Photoshop CS2 is working fine and I guess that will be it.  I have been using Adobe products for 15+ years and had always highly recommended the products to friends, family and employers.  Over the last few years reliability and customer service have seriously declined.  Perhaps it is time for me to investigate other alternatives.

But Thank you very much for trying to help.

I noted when the installation kept stalling it is was either at the Adobe Help or the Adobe Air part of the installation.  I think it may be possible that because I already had the most recent adobe air on my computer (I have 5 other adobe products) that it, in layman's terms, "caused an insurmountable difference of opinion between the installation and the computer".

I do thank you very much for your time and attempt to help solve this.
