Redemtion code expiration [for Photoshop Elements 11]

I bought Photoshop Elements 11 on clearance at Walmart. I know its old but its better than what I have which is nothing. I entered Redemptions code but it will not except it. I am figuring since it was made in 2012 that it may have expired. I don't know what to do. I am already out the money and cant get it back but I cant even use it unless I have serial number. Please help!

    if adobe support tells you it's not possible to redeem your code for a serial number, walmart sold you something useless and you should start complaining.
