I bought a second hand Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 6 and got the original CD and key.. How do I get it registered on my name? Did I waste money? I do not want to subscribe to get it and pay every month and never own the program.. Please advice on how can ownership be transferred to me?

News flash! You don't own the software either. Adobe owns it. You purchased a limited, non-exclusive license to use the software at Adobe's discretion. More importantly, LR6 is no longer supported which means you'll never see an update. At the risk of being brutally honest, software with no future is a waste of money, especially when you upgrade your equipment and your software suddenly becomes obsolete or worse, it stops working.
In contrast, a subscription to the Photography Plan costs only $10/month for 1 year and includes the latest Lightroom CC, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop CC, Photoshop Express, Photoshop Camera, optional cloud storage plus free upgrades and other perks for as long as you remain a member. You may not like the subscription model but it's popular with 15 million subscribers for a reason.

Why 2019? 2020 is the latest version.

I hope your operating system isn't Mac OS Catalina. You will be very disappointed if it is.
