Hi!

I've bought Cs5.5 and photoshop several years ago. and my serial numbers are listed in my account. so far so good but my old computer broke down after many years of good work (same as my wife). so I´ve installed the apps on my new computer, got the download links from the chat. But my old serial keys is not working.

why? I've paid more for this then my kids education

ENELish, please check with your educational institution, where you purchased the Education version of CS5.5 Design Premium, to see if they have the installation files available.  Our chat support team only has access to the retail installation files which will not work with your serial number.

I am showing that your upgrade for Photoshop CS6 was purchased online from Adobe, but the CS5.5 purchase was not.  You will still need to have a qualifying non-educational license, to utilize the upgrade to Photoshop CS6.

ENELish, sorry you are facing problems reinstalling Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard for Mac OS.  I reviewed the account you used to post to this public discussion forum and can confirm that you have an education version of CS5.5 Design Standard registered under your account.  You will need to use the installation files that were provided with your purchase to install the software.  The retail installation files, available for download through our chat support team, will not work with your serial number.

In addition, I also see an upgrade license for Photoshop CS6 for Mac that is registered under your account. If you do wish to install Photoshop CS6 then you will need to have a valid previous version software title to upgrade.  Due to the steep discount provided for education licenses they are not eligible to be upgraded.  The price of a full education license was typically less than the cost of a retail upgrade.  You can find more information regarding which products are eligible for upgrades at Error: "This serial number is not for a qualifying product" | Adobe Creative Suite .

I would recommend you focus on reinstalling CS5.5 Design Premium and locate the install files provided with your purchase.  If you are installing Creative Suite on a modern version of macOS then you will also need to implement the workaround listed in  Installing Creative Suite on macOS 10.12 (Sierra) .
