Hey,
I bought a new Mac and now I want to download the CS 6 that I bought years ago.
I never had problems to download the different programs so I did not care a lot about the serial number and didn't note it anywhere.
However, I checked Photoshop and I surprisingly found a serial number in its system information.
The problem is, that this number only has 20 digits but for installation I need 24 digits.
Does anybody know how to help here? Im really thankful!
you're not looking at a serial number if it has 20 digits. all adobe serial numbers consist of 6 groups of 4 numbers.
if you still have cs6 install on an old mac, you can recover your serial number from that old computer, https://mac-product-key-finder.com/

Adobe intentionally conceals the last 4 digits of the serial number in the Help > About screen inside Photoshop to prevent casual piracy. Hence, you only see 20 digits.
Use the link provided by kglad to locate the full 24 digits.

Hi,
My old computer got a virus so I had to get a new one. I'm trying to move adobe to my new laptop. I have the same issue but with a windows computer, I see 20 not 24 digits. How can I find my full 24 digit code on a windows device?

To clarify my Photoshop is showing 20 digits not 24. My Illustrator is showing 16 digits, not even 20.

you have 3 main ways to recover a serial number that you once had:
1. if you purchased from or registered with adobe (automatically done with cs6):,
a. you can check your account, https://accounts.adobe.com
b. you can check with adobe support* (be prepared to give the email address used when registering purchasing)
2. if your adobe program is installed on another computer you can recover its serial number from that computer, (win:) http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html, (mac:) https://mac-product-key-finder.com/
3. http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html
