Hello

i buy creative cloud, photoshop, now its in the try mode, where can i find the serial number im my account????

Hello everyone!

I had the same issue on my PC at home, and after a few shots, I managed to fix it following Arnaud's method.

I'm running windows8, and this did the trick;

1. In windows serch menu type run

2. In run, type %systemroot% \system32\drivers\etc - the window should open

3. In opened window serch, type hosts - open file with Notepad

4. Back up the hosts file: Choose File > Save As, save the file as hosts.backup, and then click OK.

5. Search the hosts file for entries that reference ADOBE and delete ALL these entries - delete absolutley everything,

    leave only this text;


# Copyright (c) 1993-2009 Microsoft Corp.

#

# This is a sample HOSTS file used by Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows.

#

# This file contains the mappings of IP addresses to host names. Each

# entry should be kept on an individual line. The IP address should

This did the trick for me

i "fixed" the hosts file..... nothing say adobe..... and im still having the same problem (mac).... uninstalled, re installed.... and nothing.... it says that i have 5 days left...... nice >.<

Same Here... Im trying to "activate" my light room... but it is asking for a serial number... and i have payed for PS & Lightroom in a package... PS is working fine... but Lightroom asks for a serial or to start a trial period...

its still a trial version, it just doesn't tell me anymore how many days are left to use!

I do have the same problem, I tried out everything but nothing happens and the problem is not solved!
Is there a german speaking supporter, maybe thats easier to follow the instructions then...

It's kind a funny that if I'm logged-off my name is changed into "wutziwutzi"

But that doesn't change anything.
YES I tried out every step above, but nothing changed.

I also uninstalled everything and downloaded the cloud client once again, installed everything completely new, but nothing changed.
I can not find the hosts file on my iMac, according to your description. I tried out everything, but this changed nothing at all.

Photoshop tells me, my trial period is nearly over and if I want to "buy the program" it asks for the serial number, which I don't have!
Lightroom also tells me, that I only use the trial version, but there is no countdown (like Martin Ulmer says).

Please find a solution for this problem, as you can see, Martin, Isac and I are no individual cases, there seems to be a big problem at adobe!!!!!!!! Please solve that problem, because I'm paying for the whole thing without the possibility to use it proberly!!!

Martin,

I have verified everything and it seems everything is clear from our side.

Can you please try the steps below:

Delete the OPM.db File:

  1. Close the Creative Cloud application.
  2. Navigate to the OOBE folder.
    Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    Mac OS: /Users/[user name]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE

  3. Delete the opm.db file.
  4. Launch Creative Cloud.

if the issue still occurs please try the second solution below:

Check your Hosts file:

i only have: adobe_oobelib.dylib files. Photoshop is asking for a

serial number

so why does it always ask for a serial number?

why can't photoshop not get used without internet?

it used to be so easy

is there  somewhere a german supporter?

Hi Hans-g,

Thank you for the information but that is not gonna be useful as there is no need to go on your Adobe Account to retrieve any information for the activation of the Creative Cloud.

As I am currently working on the account of Martin, that means there is an internal issue and therefore that's why we can't provide any troubleshoot so far as we have to make sure internally everything is well set up.

Welcome to the Adobe Forums.

Creative Cloud doesn't need a serial number as the activation is done via the Adobe ID.

I will work on your account and once it will be finalized I will let you know.

Hello!

I do have exactly the same problem!
On my iMac I downloaded and installed the creative cloud application, downloaded and installed the programs I bought the abo for but if I start the programs (for example photoshop) it always says, that this is only a trial licences and I need to fill in the serialnumber oder the "Gutscheincode" but I don't have a serialnumber or a "Gutscheincode" because I only have the e-mails from adobe, where my payment is confirmed. There is no code at all. In the help files you can read, that you have to activate or confirm you adobe ID, but how can I do this? I thought I already have done this? If I log in there is everything fine, but I can't use the apps I payed for - thats really not funny, because I really need them to work as soon as possible.

I also tried to start my Mac once, twice... again - nothing changed!

Is there somehow the possibility to get the requested code? Please let me know, it's really urgent!
