Server error when trying to update Adobe CS6

New Here ,
Mar 27, 2018 Mar 27, 2018

Recently, I am getting a server error when trying to update my Adobe CS6 applications through the Adobe Application Manager.

The error read, "The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the internet or firewall settings may be incorrect."

I am using Windows 10 version 1709. I am clueless. Please help. Thanks.

At some point in the past (I don't know the exact date) Adobe "merged" the original update manager into the Cloud update manager, which means you are no longer using your original update manager

I have read some messages that the latest (Cloud) updater sometimes doesn't work with old programs... Try installing your updates manually

Updates start here and select product, read to see if you need to install updates in number order, or if the updates are cumulative for the individual product http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

CS6 reached end of life quite some time ago. There are no updates.

I just ran across this problem, "The update is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the Internet or firewall ...  I've been using Photoshop CS6 and I just built a new desktop computer using Windows 10 Pro OS.  I installed Photoshop on the new build and when I went to update, I received the above error message.  Previously I was using Windows 7 Ultimate and updates were not a problem on my old desktop. I did a Google search to try to find a solution to the problem and I found a number of users that resolved the problem but none of the solutions seemed to work for me.

I had added Photoshop CS6 to a Windows 10 Home laptop a couple of years ago but I have never used Photoshop on het laptop and had never tried to update it.  After having the problem with updating Photoshop CS6 my desktop, the idea occurred to me to try to update Photoshop CS6 on my laptop, an Asus Zenbook to see if the same thing happens. Low and behold, the laptop updated Photoshop CS6without a hitch.

This is not entirely true. If updates have not been performed in years (since 2012) then there maybe updates available that are new to your system. CS is an old horse but still works and many people cannot or will not shovel out money for CC just because Adobe wants them to.

Here is the link to download updates manually: Adobe - Photoshop : For Windows

Timothy1972b If you get the same "...update server is not responding..." message then try reinstalling application manager: Adobe - Adobe Application Manager : For Windows : Adobe Application Manager : Thank You

If the issue persist, you will need to check your hosts file, firewall, and internet settings for blocked adobe sites and/or check your device drivers to disable any named "Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter..." -  these two were not applicable to my issue but worked for others.

Good Luck!
