Tried to install CC2019 and everything broke!

Hello,

The other day I got a notification that there was an upgrade for Creative Cloud so I tried to upgrade only to have my system stall and the thing just spun for hours.  I had to force a reboot and now CC won't open at all and either will Photoshop.  So I uninstalled it and then found out that that this version of CC2019 is not compatible with Win 8.1.  So I went back to my downloads from 2016 and am currently reinstalling CC from 2016.  So far, it's been installing for the last 45 minutes! Why does this application take so long to install and how long will it take?

If this doesn't work, does anyone have the CC2018 I could download?

I must say that I object strongly to having to having to upgade my operating system to Win 10 just to use CC2019 and the apps.  It is maddening!  And yet it is compatible with Win 7! WTH???

Apparently I didn't make myself clear.  I don't have any version of Creative Cloiud on my computer because I followed one of the threads that gave me a zip file with an uninstall link in it.  So I was requesting a provious version of Creative Cloud, like 2018 until I can figure out whether we even want to upgrade to Win 10.

CC2016 WILL NOT INSTALL!!!  It hangs and fails.

Lastly, I have a membership in Adobe CC. My membership is currently worthless because I don't have CC2018!

This is very frustrating!

I did the adobe cc cleaner and it was able to remove all of the corrupted files.  Then I was able to install my 2016 version of CC and get the apps back.  I will look into Win 10.

As a post script, the installer did not work so I am still without CC2018 or anything earlier than CC2019!  The installer takes an hour or more to initialize, then gets to 59% and fails.  An error message then says do I want to uninstall or repair Creative Cloud.  So I selected repair and now it's back to the hour long initalization.

Carolr86006626, sorry to hear that you are facing errors with the Adobe Creative Cloud desktop application being missing or damaged on Windows 8.1.  To resolve the current error I would recommend completing the steps listed in Adobe Creative Cloud, needed to resolve this problem, is missing or damaged .  This will allow the Creative Cloud desktop app to be successfully installed.  You can then use the process listed in Learn how to download your Adobe Creative Cloud apps to install the version of the Creative Cloud applications that support Windows 8.1.

You are correct that many of the recent releases do not support Windows 8.1.  You can find a complete list of system requirements for the different applications included with a Creative Cloud membership at Adobe Creative Cloud system requirements..   If you remain on Windows 8.1 then you can use the process listed in Install previous version of your Creative Cloud app to install versions that are compatible with Windows 8.1.

As Spinningstill has indicated, you may want to consider upgrading to Windows 10.  It is very likely the current computer you are using will support Windows 10.

Please update this public forum discussion, if you have any questions, Carolr86006626.
