Unable to get Premiere Elements 10 to get past splash screen

I recently purchased Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Elements 10 disks. I haven't tried installing Photoshop Elements yet but I cannot get Premiere Elements 10 installed and running, period!!.

Initially I had all the errors noted at support that indicated I needed to download the newer version that should not cause the problems that the earlier releases I have on my purchased disks had.

I did so and the program installed, I entered my reg numbers and it registered online when installation was completed.

After that NOTHING!.

When I try to launch the app on my Mac Pro it goes to splash screen, presents the spinning beach ball, and stays that way for as long as it takes to force quit it.

I really have no patiernce for this now - I have numerous other personal items I need to tend to. I've tried three days on and off, including starting in Safe boot with all extensions off. Adobe seems to offer no support at all for initial install problems.

I have to get Premiere Elements running to see how it can handle some video files that need some editing cleanups. So far I can't get Premiere Elements to open itself stably, let alone a open a file to edit.

Has anyone in this forum been experiening such an issue and possibly found a solution?

Thanks,

MarrtyP

Can you check out solution 1 in this document? (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/523/cpsid_52386.html). I looked for solutions elsewhere and it looks like updating the graphics card driver did the trick.
