Unable to install Camera Raw 4.6

I have CS3 and Camera Raw 4.6 running on Windows 7.  I moved to Windows 10 (new computer), reinstalled CS3, but it now runs Camera Raw 4.0. When I download Camera Raw 4.6 and try to install it, I get a message: Could not complete your request because it’s not the right kind of document”.I need 4.6 as it has a clarity slider and 4.0 does not.

    update the programs (eg, ps, lr, bridge) that's using cr by downloading the files directly and then applying them:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

    Thanks for the answer but I don't understand all of it, what is lr & bridge? When I run CS3 updater it says there are no updates, so do still have to download CS3 from the Adobe site because it's not the same code as what's on my CD?

    lr = Lightroom. Ignore it if you don't have Lightroom.

    Bridge is a separate File Browser application installed alongside Photoshop.

    Bridge uses the same Camera Raw plugin as Photoshop. Again, ignore it if you don't use Bridge.
