Unable to validate serial number for Flash Pro CS6 update

Hi,

I recently bought the the CS6 update disk for my previously purchased Flash Pro CS5, however when I type in the serial number it comes up with this error message: "We are unable to validate this serial number for Adobe Flash CS6. Please contact Customer support"

I've tried some of the suggestions on adobe forums, such as deleting 'activate.adobe.com' entries in the 'Hosts' folder and installing the trial version and trying to re-enter the serial number and nothings working for me...

any help would be really appreciated?

Thanks!

you'll be prompted for 2 serial numbers if cs5 is not installed.  the first will be your cs6 upgrade serial number.  if you're entering that at the correct time, Error "The serial number is not valid for this product" | Creative Suite

I've already got Flash Pro CS5 installed on my mac and when I put in the CS6 update disk I'm only prompted to give the serial number for the CS6 update (only) and when I enter the serial number from the back of the box I get the forsaid error message. Thanks for replying anyhow!

no serial number will be visible on the back of the box (unless the box was sealed in some other container).

    Find your serial number quickly

Apologies, I did mean the box within the box(s).

I believe that It could be an issue with the product (as in the serial has already been used/ faulty), so I could have to take it up with the seller (Amazon)...

Although as it was expensive I've sent a message to Adobe seeing if I'm missing something and I'm still waiting for a response, but I'm still looking for a solution if anyone has any ideas?
