I have just bought and downloaded a copy of photoshop cs6 extended for student and teacher for my child.

Also had downloaded lightroom 5 which installed successfully.

But when I try to install the PC cs6 extended I get the message mentioned below;

"We are unable to validate this serial number for Adobe Photoshop CS6. Please contact Customer Support."

But I have been trying to navigate customer support and do not find any help.

Even the chat is not available when I tried.

Please help, my child's enthuasiam to learn PS is very high and do not want it to go away.

Thank you!

Hi, I just tried chat and they helped me solve my problem,

something to do with hosts file which they asked me to delete and copy some info they provided to enter into.

And it solved the problem immediately.

Thank you very much.

I had the same issue of not being able to validate my serial number for Adobe Acrobat Pro 2017. This seems to be an issue with several of the Adobe products. After spending 4 hours on the phone with support to no avail. I attempted to do a clean install of all my Adobe products as instructed and tried everything that is mentioned in this thread. I even tried to use my phone as a hotpot to connect to Adobe's verification servers. None of this worked!!! Very frustrating to say the least.

I was able to resolve the issue on my own. I modified my DNS and that did the trick. I added 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4. to the DNS and voila...I was able to connect and validate the software. Hopefully this will help those who have tried all of the other steps in this thread and were unsuccessful. And to Adobe, I suggest you add this to your "troubleshooting steps" because it was the only thing that worked for me and was a fast and easy fix. Had I tried this first, it would have saved me hours of frustration!

check your connection, Sign in, activation, or connection errors | CS5.5 and later

if that fails to resolve the problem, retry chat, https://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
