I had 2 instances of acrobat installed - the same version. I un-installed one, left preferences. Acrobat then failed to run, I then uninstalled the other in order to re-install via the creative cloud app. But that is telling me its up to date.
(And now I need it urgently of course).
How do I force it to reinstall?

Well I fixed it myself if anyone has the same issue. And this page is rubbish:
http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cant-install-acrobat-aam.html
I exited the CC app, then I deleted some.gz log files that were here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Installers
I also went through and renamed a bunch of acrobat folders that were left on the system in
C:\Users\**USER**\AppData\local
C:\Users\**USER**\AppData\localLow
and left the one in roaming alone.
Then restarted cc app the the option to install acrobat was there.
Cant tell you which one of these was necessary - suggest you try one at a time.

Moving this discussion to the Creative Cloud Download & Install forum.
Getho I am glad you were able to reinstall Acrobat. If you or others face similar difficulties in the future then please see CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.
