Updates unavailable in CC, unless I uninstall current version!@# (of After Effects)

Explorer ,
May 30, 2025 May 30, 2025

I'm running After Effects 25.1, but learned that v25.2.2 is the most recent.

So I open up CC, and there is no option to install/update to anyting over 25.1.
*unless* I uninstall 25.1, and only then,  all the update options are available. (25.2,. 25.2.2, etc0

I've searched , but no luck finding a solution.
any way to force CC to show the most recent updates?

Unless there's some compelling reason to do so, you do not have to update.

I rarely accept incremental (dot) updates unless my current one has bugs.

Before you upgrade, make sure your system meets the latest requirements.  Most Creative Cloud apps work on these systems, no more than 2 versions back:

  • Windows 11 (64-bit) versions 24H2, 23H2; Windows 10 versions 22H2, 21H2;
  • MacOS 15 (Sequoia), 14.7 (Sonoma), 13.6.7 (Ventura).

Hope that helps.

-I updated my CC app, still no effect

-this same issue occured when I wanted to update to 25.1,  had to uninstall v25.0 in order to see v25.1 asn option to install.

- of course there is compelling reasons to update from 25.1 to 25.2, - all the improvements shown in the update link.

Plus I want to ensure the scripts I develop work with the most recent versiion of After Effects.

- my system is fully capable, running Sonoma.  I *can* install 25.2.2 , BUT it ONLY appears as an option if I uinstall 25.1, which is quite annoying., so I'm searching for a way to force CC to show me the updates without having to uninstall the prevous app.

thanks,.  tried deleting that OOBE folder,  still no luck.
the option to install 25.2.2 is only available IF I uninstall 25.1.
upon further investiation, it appears that ALL updates are not avialable,  I can't update my Photoshop v26.0 to any of the updates either (but bet it'll show up if I delete it).
This might be an issue with my workspace blocking some aspects of Adobe CC., will try to get it sorted

following up, in case someone else runs into the same problem:
our Admin had me contact Adobe support,  which was stumped as well,

so they escalated it to someone a tech higher up who then immediatley traced it to:

/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AAMUpdaterInventory folder. which he then renamed to something else, and then things were working again!   now showing a dozen apps that were never updated.

Upon further investigation, it turns out something similar occured for someone else and it was discussed.

the true fix was to locate adobe\AAMUpdaterInventory\1.0\AdobeUpdaterAdminPrefs.dat
open up the .dat in a txt editor  and change the line:

<Suppressed>1</Suppressed>

To

<Suppressed>0</Suppressed>
