Updating Computer, can I keep Premiere Pro 2018?

I'm looking into updating my computer tonight for a black friday sale at Micro Center. The price is right but I'm wondering if I'll be able to keep my old version of Premiere Pro CC 2018. I have it installed on my device currently. But the update will require a motherboard change and therefore a loss of my Microsoft Home license since it's OEM. The device is Windows 10 so I'll have to reinstall windows in order for it to work and if I wanted to upgrade I'd have to wipe the C drive including my old version of Premiere Pro CC 2018.

My question is, is there any way for me to keep this version of Premiere Pro (so I can still access my old files as well as edit .mkv files) or will I just have to give up on this version of Premiere Pro CC in order to beef up my machine? IDK if this makes enough sense so let me know if you have any questions about it and I'll try to answer them. I'm still new to custom PCs and such.

BF sale is only for new subscribers, it will not let you purchase if you have an existing subscription

I can't find a link to the thread, but I believe that @ProDesignTools confirmed that the links available are generally to the original release of each version. So, for example, the file linked will install PR 2018.0.0, The final version of PR 2018 was 2018.1.2. There was a pretty long list of bug fixes in 2018.1.

It is also my understanding that sometimes, Chat support will provide a link to an older version or to an update file.

Let's see if @ProDesignTools can clarify.

Hey @Stan Jones,

I've never tried @kglad's idea, but it sounds interesting.

Adobe made a major change in the standalone installers back in 2016... Since that time, the product teams have only done one initial cut for each app after the launch of a major new release, but then unfortunately haven't taken the time to update them. Meaning, only the base .0 version (and not any updated version) has been available as direct download links since 2016.
