upgrade elements 10 to 11 serial number

I purchased Elements 10 a few years ago and would like to upgrade to Elements 11. I have downloaded and installed 11 but it will not accept my serial number from Elements 10. Do I need a new serial# for Elements 11 and if so do I need to purchase Elements 11?

    Photoshop Elements 11 would not install serial number of elements 10 as it is version language and platform(mac/win) specific, I would recommend you to upgrade to current version which is Photoshop Elements 14: Buying guide | Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 vs 13, 12‌. Make sure you check Tech specs | Adobe Photoshop Elements 14 for Mac, Windows, PC.
