Very Irritating Error (Error 1)

This is driving me nuts. I am starting to think that CS6 isn't compatible with Windows 8.1. Repeated installs to no avail I get the error posted. It happens after Adobe updates (despite the fact that I disabled the updates). What gives?

I gave up. Hopefully Adobe issues a patch.

that's usually caused by a preference or file location problem.

    start by resetting your preferences.

    reset preferences -

    after effects:  http://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/using/preferences.html

    flash:  http://helpx.adobe.com/flash/kb/re-create-preferences-flash-professional.html

    illustrator:  http://helpx.adobe.com/illustrator/using/setting-preferences.html

    indesign:  https://forums.adobe.com/thread/526990

    photoshop:  https://forums.adobe.com/thread/375776

if that fails to solve the problem, uninstall, clean (Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6) and then reinstall.

I previously tried that to no avail. It isn't with just one program. It is the entire suite. On multiple occasions I have reverted my OS to before I've installed anything. When using the CC and then reinstalling I get a different error regarding directory or permissions error. Thanks for the help though. I think Adobe needs to create a patch or something. I am trying everything again but I am going to totally lock everything down in my firewall so it can't try to update anymore. If I can block updates everything will be fine.
