I purchased CS5.5 Master Collection from Adobe online and installed all the applications. Later, i discovered that Acrobat X Pro was NOT in my application folder on my Mac. I then started the installer (for the Master Collection) and chose only Acrobat X to install. The first strange thing is that the installer says (below the Acrobat X Pro line in the list of applications to install) that "Acrobat X Pro is allready installed!". - But it isn't, and when searching for it in Spotlight, the result is 0 found. - So, I started to install it again, but then I get these error messages:
Run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool then try again.

Thanks for the help. Following that guide solved the problem.

I had the exact same problem (with CS5.5 Web Premium not installing Acrobat X Pro), but a different approach ended up working for me:
With the installer package open, navigate to Payloads > AcrobatProfessional10.0-EFG > Adobe Acrobat X Pro Installer.pkg (mac, obviously), and double-click the pkg.
Hope that helps someone!
