Why am I getting trial version when trying to open software that I purchased (lightroom5)?
Thank you for the update Reginab8929. It does sounds like all of this behavior is due to the upgrade experience to Windows 10. The steps Brucgov was offering was an attempt to clean out the licensing data which was damaged by the upgrade.
I would recommend going through the steps listed in Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems again. In particular it is important to complete Step 2 prior to running the CC Cleaner Tool. You will want to remove any installed Ad

Reginab8929 I am sorry you are facing difficulties utilizing your licensed version of Photoshop Lightroom 5. Are you utilizing the serial number registered under your account at http:///www.adobe.com/? You can find details on how to locate your registered serial number at Find your Adobe product serial number quickly..
Has Lightroom 5 ever worked on this computer? If so was there any changes that occurred prior to being put into a trial state? Finally what operating system are you installing Photoshop Lightroom 5 on?

Yes, it worked for about a week, up until a few days ago! The software is registered in my name and this has been confirmed. However, I can't get any help as to why it is now coming up as a trial. Nothing has changed on my unit! I'm a bit frustrated as Adobe customer support will only assist if it relates to their latest version. Something about this is unfair to the customers that have supported them through out their many versions.
I'm definitely not enthusiastic about trying any newer versions or anymore Adobe products, as I can't even get help with what I currently have! Terribly upset about this situation.......

In this case , you may try deleting Lightroom registration and Cookie file .
Then when you launch Lightroom application , you shud get a pop up option to enter serial number , Enter serial number again and re-activate the app.
Windows :
C:> ProgramData > Adobe> Lightroom. [ ProgramData will be hidden by default ]
Mac:
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom [ System Library ]
or check under ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom [ User Library ]

No, but my brother installed a trial version of Lr 4 or 5 prior to my purchasing the software. I did an uninstall prior to installing the disk. After the disk installed I registered the software and everything worked fine.
I had other Adobe products (e.g. Elements 10) that came pre-installed on my computer. But they stopped working when I did the Windows 10 upgrade.

Reginab8929 is your Lightroom 5.0 serial number accepted or do you receive a message the serial number is invalid.
You indicated that other Adobe software stopped working since the upgrade to Windows 10. You also indicated you ran the CC Cleaner Tool available at Use the Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems.. Did you run all available Adobe uninstallers prior to running the CC Cleaner Tool? This would include any available uninstallers for Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements.
