Why did Photoshop dissapeared from list of updates after updating Creative Cloud?

Community Beginner ,

Hi,

Seeking help for the following situation:

July 14, 2013 Creative Cloud on my PC is listing the following applications that need to be updated:

Dreamweaver, Flash Professional, Fireworks and Photoshop.

I updated Dreamweaver, Flash Professional and Fireworks.

I did not update Photoshop as I had run out of time and had to turn off my PC.

July 15, 2013. I start my PC and get notification that Creative Cloud has an update.

I updated Creative Cloud. Got error message that installation was not successful then try again and it was successful.

My problem: Photoshop is not listed any more as to be updated. What happened?

My app version: Photoshop CS6 Extended 13.1.2 x64

How to I contact some one at Adobe for help and support on this.

Right here?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi Roger6,

If you are using PS CS6 version 13.1.2 then you are up to date with the latest update for Photoshop CS6 -- http://blogs.adobe.com/crawlspace/2011/03/keeping-photoshop-up-to-date.html

The main other update that it could have been was the Camera Raw update, it's possible that also downloaded and installed.

You could check your ACR (adobe camera raw) version to make sure it's the latest -- 8.1.

What you're seeing with the CC application could be showing accurate information.

Let us know if you have further trouble,

regards

Pete

Hi Pete,

Thanks for your prompt reply and support.

Everything is looking fine. PS CS6 Ext and Camera Raw are up to date. Maybe it got updated somehow or maybe my eyes play a trick on me due to tireness.

I take the opportunity to ask you one more quetion:

I have being using PS CS6 Ext believing it was the most advance version. Correct me if I'm wrong but apparently know it is PS CC the most advance?

If this is correct, then I should remove PS CS6 Ext and install PS CC?

Thanks and best regards,

Roger

Hi Roger,

Good to see the updates were installed, that was my assumption.

Photoshop CC is the next version of Photoshop after CS6 -- So yes, it is the latest version we have out and available. Since you're a CC subscriber, you're absolutely able to download and install it using the CreativeCloud application.

Once it is installed and functioning to your liking, you can go ahead and uninstall PS CS6. That said -- You don't HAVE to uninstall CS6 if you don't want to, or might need it for some reason. The option is yours.

Regards,

Pete

Hi Pete,

Thank you again for your prompt and clear response and help.

Going back to this new CC I just noticed that there are a lod of them. So I guess I should do the same on the other ones, like for example Lightroom CC. The confusing part why they did not became obvious updates to happen automatically instead of heaving the two versions. If the newer CC has all the features, at least in my case I don't see why to keep the older versions.

Thanks and best regards, Roger
