Question

Will Adobe ever change their device activation limit?

It's such a pain having to activate and deactivate all the time. I have three main devices I use and I hate having to do this. It would seem that 3 is a better number than two. Will Adobe ever change this? Perhaps up it, maybe to 3? Or remove it completely?

I think they might at least let you buy two subscriptions and up the limit to 4, but maybe their focus is on selling team subscriptions. When Photoshop for iPad is released this may add increased pressure.

Team subscriptions is useful for companies, but even there you have 2 activations per id. You need to have 2 id's for 4 activations...so that does not change to the individual subscriber who could take a second subscription on a second id. I would, however, go in that case simply by deactivating one of the other computers...

Photoshop on the iPad may count as an iPad app and not be used against your 2 activations. The Lightroom app is handled like that for the moment.

Looking also in my Chrystal ball like Ned and Melissa, the answer is, I fear, the same. The 2 device policy is in use since ever I can remember. I doubt it will change anytime soon. The only thing that changed is that it is now easier to disable a computer as it was before.

My guess is: If it changes, Adobe will announce the change the day it will be effective.

Hi, Zach! I sincerely doubt they will remove it completely, but you just never know for sure! I'm grateful we at least get two!

There is no telling what Adobe will do, but if you expect them to answer this, that I would not expect to happen.  Based on having the two machine requirement in place for pretty much ever I kinda doubt they will be changing it.  They could go the other way and limit it to just one machine and then charge for any additional ones.
