I found out after re-installing my Acrobat Pro XI Student version that I cannot convert MS Word to PDF anymore. It keep saying "Unable to find Adobe PDF resource file, Adobe Pdf Maker. You must have administrator privileges to install these files. Contact your local system administrator". What can I do?

Hi

In Microsoft Word, is the Acrobat tab showing as the last tab on the right? If not, follow these steps:

  • Go to File > Options > Add-ins
  •  Manage: choose COM Add-ins from drop down,  then Go
  • In the next dialog, click the checkbox to enable Acrobat PDFMaker

Now the Acrobat tab should be showing. Click Preferences first to make appropriate choices, then click Create PDF. If you are using PDFMaker, the PDF will say so in File > Properties > Description, so check there to confirm you are doing it correctly.

Post back with a screen shot if you have questions.
