After Effects/Mac OS 10.9 problems
Hi,
I'd just like to add my voice to the choir of complaints about Adobe installation/marketing methods.
I (foolishly) updated to Mac OS X 10.9 just before the holidays, as my Keynote refused to work on 10.8.
My AfterEffects_11_LS7 (bought through Volume Licensing) promptly stopped working, and I was guided to the 11.0.4 patch.
The 11.0.4 patch did not work, citing the ubiquitous "Application Manager damaged or missing" that I've been fuming at for years whenever trying to install updates.
After 24 hours of hard labour trying to penetrate the total mess of installers, full-adobe-wipes, access privileges, restarts, CS Cleaners and whatnot, I've now given up on CS6 until further notice. It appears impossible to install.
I went and asked a friend to down-convert all my urgent workfiles back to CS5.5, which I finally managed to install back onto my system.
Needless to say I'm extremely unhappy with AAM, it's shot with errors and it seems there are many legitimate users like me struggling and losing income and good name from these crazy outages.
Since we're all fairly dependent on Adobe products for a living, all we can do is stress, swear and pray.
What is Adobe doing about fixing this Application Manager mess?
many thanks,
Fredrik
