Changing Operating Platform

Earlier today I registered to Creative Cloud using my office Mac but I now realize that it would make more sense to access the cloud through my office PC, how can I switch the operating platform at his point?  I do not wish to purchase 2 subscriptions and would no longer access the creative cloud through my mac once the switch has been made.

The Cloud allows you a maximum of two cross-platform activations per membership: Mac and/or Windows.

All you need do on your PC is login to creative.adobe.com with your Adobe ID, download the Adobe Application Manager then download the apps as normal.

That will use up your second activation.

If you no longer want the Cloud apps on the Mac, simply launch any Cloud app on your Mac e.g. Photoshop, click Help > Deactivate to deactivate all apps. That will free up an activation for you to use elsewhere.

    Then uninstall as usual.

    Thanks John,

That’s great! I misunderstood the Adobe site and thought you were not allowed to download two different platforms on one registration. One more question, how long do I have to deactivate the Cloud apps on my work Mac to free up the activation in case I should decide to install the apps on my home Mac instead? Do I need to do it right away or can it be done at any time as long as the programs are deactivated on any one computer?

    Thanks again,

    Peter

You definitely can. That's one of the selling points of the Cloud and it's how I operate here: one activation on Windows 8 and one on MacBook Air.

One more question, how long do I have to deactivate the Cloud apps on my work Mac  to free up the activation in case I should decide to install the apps on my home Mac instead? There is no time limit. As long as your Cloud membership is current (payments up to date) you are entitled to two activations: it's up to you how and when you use them.

Keep using the two activations on Mac and  PC then when the time comes, simply Help > Deactivate on the Mac and install the Cloud apps via the AAM on whatever other computer you want to install them on.
