Creative cloud setup is stuck at 1%

I recently decided to download creative cloud since it will be useful with its many applications for my education. i used a product key provided by my educator. downloading the installer was no problem but downloading the actual creative cloud app proved a bit tricky since it would not download anything and be stuck at the initializing installer process at 1%. i have tried many things such as restarting, checking firewall, re downloading and anything i could think of. please help.
