I've been having problems with my Adobe apps (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects) either freezing or not opening at all. After doing some research on the Adobe site, I uninstalled and reinstalled Creative Cloud Desktop app. That seems to have stabilized my apps. However, I see that I have an update to Illustrator CC2015 but when I click the update button, it tries to install it but I get an Error Code 145; Here's what the message says:

I tried to go into preferences and change the default installation path to my Illustrator folder but that didn't help. I'm on a 2015 Retina Macbook Pro running El Capitan 10.11.3. Any suggestions?

Please uninstall CC desktop App https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/help/uninstall-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html

Run The CC cleaner tool

Delete All Adobe folders  and move it to trash

The location would be : ~/library/Application Support/

                                    /library/Application Support

Empty trash

Restart Machine

Reinstall CC desktop App https://www.adobe.com/creativecloud/desktop-app.html

It should be working fine now.

If it does not work , please enable root user on your mac https://support.apple.com/en-in/HT204012  and then try to install.

Moving to Creative Cloud Download & Install

Is there a way to fix this issue without having to uninstall and reinstall every app?  I have so many actions, presets, plugins, etc in all my apps I would hate to have to load all of those from scratch again.  Very very very annoying Adobe.  Please help!

Error code 145: A Simple Fix for Adobe CC App updates

For Window 7 Pro

1. Open the Control Panel

2. Open the Programs and Features module

3. Right click on the Adobe Creative Cloud app listing.

4. Select the Repair option. You will get a small message panel: Uninstall/Change. Click the panel.

5. You will get a Windows message panel with two buttons: [ Uninstall ] [ Repair ]. Click [ Repair ]

5. Adobe CC will now download and reinstall itself.

When done, try Updating your Photoshop, etc.

This worked for me, and I just finished 3 updates.

I too was totally frustrated and stumped by this failed install bug Error 145 for the Adobe CC App. Adobe support while thorough with their "documentation" can't seem to post up simple fixes, recipe-style, like "Step 1, Stp 2, etc..."

In my case, after reviewing the posts on this issue, I decided to try uninstalling the Adobe CC app. I got the

error message "... can't uninstall because Adobe CC is being used by Adobe CC applications..." Which meant I must uninstall all my key Adobe CC apps, download them all again, and reinstall everything.  Considering Adobe CC's gnarly, excruciatingly long installation process, I thought there has to be a better solution--there was for me per the instructions above.

Please Adobe support management: Bring in some top User Experience professionals, and put your update/installation system through an honest, truthful user experience process.

What all the posters and I experience when we encounter Adobe CC Update/Installation issues is UNEXCEPTABLE. We pay a hefty license fee every month for a great suite of design tools, but your Adobe CC user management system is sub par compared to your apps.

    Thanks for responding. The first link didn't have my error code listed so I didn't find that very helpful. The second link helped me find the log but beside what I had already shown in my initial post, I don't see anything that would help me. Here is the last log entry in its entirety:

    Not sure what other information can be gleaned from that.

    The third link I had already found and used that to uninstall and re-install the Creative Cloud Desktop app, which seemed to help the stability of all my other Adobe apps

    The fourth link I had previously looked at as well, that's where I got the idea to try to change the default installation location. I wasn't sure if the instructions were saying to delete all CC apps or just the CC desktop app. I just deleted the CC Desktop app. Even though it was an answer written for a windows machine, I tried to follow the instructions at the bottom of the page by going to my activity monitor and force quitting all Adobe related tasks such as Creative Cloud, Core sync, CC library, Adobe Desktop Services, Adobe IPC broker, Adobe Crash daemon. I was unable to do so as they keep relaunching.

    Should I just uninstall all CC apps, restart the computer, run CC cleaner and reinstall?
