Installing update to Canto Connector plugin

Hello,

I am attempting to install and update to the Canto Connector plugin and encountered an error which states "Couldn't install plugin due to a permissions issue. Please try again". Has anyone encountered this somewhat vague error? I am an admin user on this computer and was not asked to enter any passwords so I'm not clear as to which permissions this error is referring.
