Ordered Acrobat Pro from Tech Soup. Trying to install, but getting a message that the serial number is invalid?

I ordered Acrobat Pro for Mac from Tech Soup. They sent a serial number, but when trying to install I get a message that the number is invalid?  How do I remedy this?

    Thank you. I had entered the serial number incorrectly at first, but with successive tries (using the correct code) I kept getting the invalid message.

    I had to re-start the installation process from the beginning, and when prompted to enter the serial number it started the installation process.
