Serial number revoked
A client of mine has been caught up in the revoking of serial numbers by Adobe.
She purchased Mac Illustrator CS6 from King of Software UK in December 2014. This was shipped from King of Software US - we have all the paperwork. In was initially installed on Snow Leopard and then updated to Yosemite yesterday. At that point, Illustrator reverted to being a 'tryout'. I tried entering the serial to be informed that the licence had been revoked.
I spent an hour speaking with two members of the Adobe Genuine Software team. First I was told that King of Software is not an authorized Adobe reseller - not true. They are. The team supervisor insisted that the software must be pirated. I then received an email from the team informing me of the situation:
"As our representative explained, your Adobe application recently ran a self-test to verify if it is genuine.
This testing has determined that the application on your computer is not properly licensed, and is not a genuine Adobe product.
The application has an invalid serial number and/or the software contains unauthorized modifications that are associated with counterfeit products."
I have tried to speak with King of Software US, who definitely supplied the software, but they don't want to know.
So, two questions:
• Does anyone have the UK 0800 tel number for the Adobe Genuine Software team?
• Does anyone have a working email address for the Adobe Genuine Software team? The reply email they provided bounces.
• Any suggestions of how to handle this?
I have the invoice from King of Software UK and the US commercial invoice from King of Software US. The software was boxed and shrink wrapped. If it is a fake, it's a perfect one.
Thanks for any help,
Vic Lennard
