Serial number revoked

A client of mine has been caught up in the revoking of serial numbers by Adobe.

She purchased Mac Illustrator CS6 from King of Software UK in December 2014. This was shipped from King of Software US - we have all the paperwork. In was initially installed on Snow Leopard and then updated to Yosemite yesterday. At that point, Illustrator reverted to being a 'tryout'. I tried entering the serial to be informed that the licence had been revoked.

I spent an hour speaking with two members of the Adobe Genuine Software team. First I was told that King of Software is not an authorized Adobe reseller - not true. They are. The team supervisor insisted that the software must be pirated. I then received an email from the team informing me of the situation:

"As our representative explained, your Adobe application recently ran a self-test to verify if it is genuine.

This testing has determined that the application on your computer is not properly licensed, and is not a genuine Adobe product.

The application has an invalid serial number and/or the software contains unauthorized modifications that are associated with counterfeit products."

I have tried to speak with King of Software US, who definitely supplied the software, but they don't want to know.

So, two questions:

• Does anyone have the UK 0800 tel number for the Adobe Genuine Software team?

• Does anyone have a working email address for the Adobe Genuine Software team? The reply email they provided bounces.

• Any suggestions of how to handle this?

I have the invoice from King of Software UK and the US commercial invoice from King of Software US. The software was boxed and shrink wrapped. If it is a fake, it's a perfect one.

Thanks for any help,

Vic Lennard

Many thanks,

Vic I am sorry but I reviewed the serial number you sent as it was a volume license serial number not designed for resale.  There are additional steps you can take Vic if you click on the link for if your serial number is blocked at Invalid or revoked serial numbers.  We do understand that you are the victim in these circumstances you can use that link to discuss the options to gain access to Adobe software.

I don't know if this is the case, but one POSSIBLE reason is the vendor illegally sold an OEM or Volume license that was never meant to be sold to an individual, and the Adobe licensing database has now caught up to that fact

Invalid Serial Number https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2359923

-Problems with software validation https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2273259

-Warning that software is not genuine http://www.adobe.com/genuine.html

The box has the following on a label:

DVS/A, ILST, 16.0, MAC, GEN, MUL

LRE/JPL 91063959

Does that point to it being a licensing problem?

Thanks for your help,

Vic

Vic I am not showing any serial numbers for Creative Suite 6 registered under your account.  If you feel that your serial number is valid then please register it at http://www.adobe.com/.  You can find complete details regarding the process at Find your serial number .

As John indicated in post #2 it sounds like you purchased a volume license that was never designed for individual resale.  If you find you are blocked from registering the serial number at http://www.adobe.com/ then that is the most likely cause.

You are also welcome to send me a private message and I would be happy to verify the status of the serial number Vic.

Can you post the error screenshot which prompted that the Software/ License is not genuine?

Note:

Do not post the screenshot which contains serial number or other confidential details. Just the error message is fine.
