what's error 204

I get a message that there is an update to install but after it starts, at 2%, an error appears with the error code 204. What's this all about.

I am on mac system 10.7.5

I have the same problem, but on two different  Windows 7 systems.

(a laptop with "Symantec end protection" and a Desktop with "BullGuard", same problem on both computers)

After trying nearly everything I disabled my Firewall and Antivirus, and now everything is OK

(working for both computers)

This is good information, thanks.

However, I have been in touch with Adobe support and went through these but still unable to install the adobe creative cloud desktop. They fussed with permissions etc, but nothing worked, and I don't have any firewalls etc.

As a work around they downloaded InDesign for me, which initially gave me an error when trying to open. I dumped the CC preferences and it opened fine.

Nonetheless, still stumped as to why CC desktop can't get installed (it's a nuisance because many peripherals etc depend on having it running.

Mb@mage.com to clarify you were receiving an Error 204.  You then removed the Creative Cloud Desktop application and are now not able to install it is that correct?
