Can't CTRL-drag to copy code in 2018

I have been using DW for 15 years+. my previous version was 2016 and i just started using 2018 last week. Didn't think it would be such a big learning curve...

One of the small annoyance i have noted, is that I can no longer select/mark code in the code window, and CTRL-Drap it, to copy it else where in the page, like a few lines up or down. So now i have to mark, CTRL-C, click elsewhere and then CTRL-V.

Using Win 10

can i get the old functionality back?

Hi Kneidels and others,

This issue exists with .css files but works with other type of files.

We will have a bug logged for same and prioritize for fixing.

Please let us know if you face any other problem in using DW.

Thanks,

Lalita

Hi,

All issues related to drag and drop of code irrespective of file type have been fixed. These fixes will be available in our next Dw release.

Thanks Lalita.

I am definitely seeing the issue in non-css files as well.

Thanks, hope to hear back from you.

Has anyone managed to find a solution for this? Quite annoying...

Thanks

My solution is to simply not use CC2018.

As a paid subscriber, we have access to all major releases of DW all the way back to CS6 Cloud and can have all of them installed on the same machines at the same time. The won't run concurrently, so if there's a feature you need in another version, you have to quit then start up that version to use it.

As new releases come out, they can also be installed with the versions that work for you, you just need to click the Advanced Options link in the installer dialogue to turn off "Remove Older Versions" so you can keep them without needing to reinstall.

To go back to older (and my opinion, better) versions, open the CC Desktop App and click the Apps tab. Scroll down to DW's Open/Install/Update button and click the small triangle. Click "Other Versions" in the menu that comes up. Choose the version you want, that you know fit your workflow, and install.

Why don't you just select the code and while it is selected click it and drag it around?

because i dont want to MOVE the code - i want to COPY it. in 2016, CTRL+Drag would copy the code elsewhere.

Well, this also works in CC2018 - i am also on Win10.
