Can't put files

Sorry to be a bother. I have been using Dreamweaver for about twenty years but I only use it a couple of times a year and have never really gained any confidence in using it. Right now I can't "put files" to my remote server, Go Daddy. When I click on the up arrow i get the standard dialog box – "Do you want to put entire site?" When I click on that I immediately get "File Activity Complete", but the updated html is not uploaded. Can anyone help? I am using Dreamweaver 2021 on a MacBook Pro with Venture 13.4.1

Thanks

Are you getting any errors in your FTP Log?

Open it by going to Window > Results > FTP Log then try the upload again.

GoDaddy is extremely good at borking server credentials during updates and not mentioning it to their customers. The one I see most often is "Same - Not Transferred" which usually means there is no permission to overwrite files on the server under the current credentials.

If you click on Site --> Advanced --> FTP Log when you go to transfer what comes up in that log?

I spent the morning on the phone with GoDaddy and I now know (after fifteen years with GoDaddy) how to upload html files directly from my desktop without any involvement of Dreamweaver. It worked perfectly. In other words, I can create and edit html and css files in Dreamweaver and then use GoDaddy to upload them.

Still, I would like to know what is going on with the “Put Files” (up arrow) in Dreamweaver. Sometimes I get “File Activity Complete” with no activity. Sometimes I get “Operation Cancelled”. I have shown that the pathway between my desktop and my remote server at GoDaddy is clear.

A related question – when I click on “Put Files” I get a dialog box saying “Do you want to put entire site?” What if I just want to put one file? How do I do that?

    Thanks
